Finance & Reporting Automation
Automation that a finance team can trust and an auditor can follow.
At Zalora, I helped take our close process from thirty days down toeight, by fixing the workflow first and automating what was left. That's still the order I build in: process, controls, then AI.
Typical projects include automating three-way match and reconciliations, tightening the month-end close calendar, and building management reporting packs that update themselves instead of eating two days of a finance manager's month. I always keep an audit trail, because I've been the person defending numbers to an audit committee, and "the AI did it" is not an answer that holds up.
I don't recommend automating every step. Some controls exist precisely because a human needs to look at the exception. Part of the job is telling you which steps to leave alone.
What people actually want to know before booking.
Will this pass our external auditor's review?
That's a design requirement, not an afterthought. Every automation I build keeps a clear audit trail and a documented control point, because I've sat on the other side of that conversation with an audit committee.
What if our close process is a mess right now?
That's normal, and it's exactly why this starts with an AI Workflow Audit if we haven't already done one. Automating a broken process just makes it fail faster.
Do we need new software?
Sometimes, often not. Most close delays come from manual handoffs and unclear ownership, not missing tools. I'll tell you honestly if a new system is actually needed before recommending one.
What happens to the team members who currently do this manually?
Usually they move up the value chain into reviewing exceptions and analysis instead of data entry, that's the honest answer most of the time. I'll tell you upfront if a role genuinely becomes redundant, rather than let you find out later.
